Use case

Saved links do not become a knowledge base. On a schedule, Hermes takes the next question from a topic list, reads a handful of sources, and writes a linked markdown note into a vault you can open in Obsidian or any folder. You review the newest notes once a week, starting with the synthesis note.

Prompt to paste into Hermes Agent

Save this as a skill named vault-researcher. Run every day at [8:00] [TIMEZONE]. When you finish, send one Telegram line: topic name and how many sources you used. Vault: [VAULT PATH] Topics, one question per line: [VAULT PATH]/topics.txt Each run, take the next unanswered question. Skip a line that already has a note unless I marked it redo. Then: 1. Search the web. Use 3 to 5 sources you can name. Prefer write-ups with a number, a named method, or a real example over glossary pages. 2. Write [VAULT PATH]/research/[topic-slug].md with: the question as the title, Sources (title and URL), Key findings (3 to 7 bullets a person could act on), Connections (other notes in the vault this relates to, or omit the section), Open questions (at most 3). 3. If that file already exists, do not overwrite it. Append a dated update with only what is new. 4. Append one line to [VAULT PATH]/research/_log.md: date, topic, source count, new or updated. If the network fails, write the file with a single line "Needs sources" and log it. Do not fill the note from memory. Write topics as questions. If a line is a single noun, ask me to sharpen it instead of researching the noun.
